Idaho, Montana + Washington
All homes initiated in the Northwest ENERGY STAR homes database on or after January 1, 2011 must be built to the 2011 Northwest ENERGY STAR standard to receive the ENERGY STAR label. Washington and Idaho homes initiated in the database prior January 1, 2011 can still be certified under the current Northwest ENERGY STAR Home requirements if construction is complete prior to July 1, 2011.

Oregon
Northwest ENERGY STAR does not anticipate a specification change this year. NEEA has asked the EPA to allow the existing Oregon specification to remain in effect until the next code change that is anticipated to occur in mid-2011. Following this code change, a new specification that includes elements of the EPA 2011 specification will be implemented. It is anticipated that the new Oregon Northwest ENERGY STAR specification will be similar, if not the same, as what will be implemented in Washington in January, 2011.
