We are proud to announce that we are launching a federal tax credit path effective June 1, 2007. You will now be able to work with the program to obtain the federal tax credit in addition to ENERGY STAR certification.

The federal government provides a $2,000 credit paid to the builder on new homes whose space heating and cooling energy consumption is 50% below the annual consumption of a home constructed to the standards of the IECC 2003 and its supplements and current federal minimum equipment requirements.

Builders interested in building homes to federal tax credit standard should first contact a Northwest ENERGY STAR Homes verifier who has been approved to verify tax credit homes or a RESNET approved HERS rater who has the required professional liability coverage.
Contact your State Certification Office for a list of approved verifiers.
